IT Architect at Jönköping University

Do you want to be part of an organization that puts people first? At Jönköping University (JU), we work based on our vision “People First,” striving to create an inclusive and sustainable future for students, staff, and society at large.

Through a trust-based working method, we strengthen our collaboration and ability to meet future challenges. Do you have experience in developing IT architecture, both operational and enterprise? Then you could be our new colleague!

With us, you will help shape the university's future IT landscape, where we closely collaborate with operational representatives to manage projects, processes, and strategies. You will work in a driven and competent department with many contact points across all parts of our operations. Within the IT department, with about 40 employees, there are development teams, support functions, educational functions, infrastructure operations, workplace and client management, IT resource management, and IT security.

In the role of IT architect, the focus will be on structures, processes, and integrations related to ongoing projects. You will ensure that solutions follow established guidelines and goals from a technical perspective, where you visualize and communicate complex technical solutions for different target groups within the organization. You will work closely with our project office, where several of our projects for system exchanges or system implementations are managed, acting as the link between the project office and the IT department.

You will review frameworks, strategies, and governance for overarching IT architecture. This will be done in close collaboration with other units within the department as well as with business developers, where you assess the consequences of technical choices and changes in the IT landscape. We have a hybrid environment with systems and services both in the cloud and locally.

To succeed in this role, we see that you:

  • have at least 3-5 years of current and relevant experience as an IT architect
  • possess good knowledge of process development and strategic work within architecture
  • have experience with EA
  • are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

We value your ability to collaborate and build relationships. You are analytical and structured, with a drive to translate complex needs into sustainable solutions. You thrive on taking responsibility and contributing to development in close dialogue with the business.

It is also meritorious if you have:

  • A broad span with both strategic height and an eye for detail
  • Frameworks and methods for documenting architecture principles, guidelines, and goals
  • Practical experience in building networks and structures where you lead and coordinate architecture forums
  • Experience within the higher education sector

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed upon. A probationary period may apply. Working conditions: regulated working hours, flexible hours with the possibility of partial remote work. Collective agreements and individual salary setting apply. For more information about our terms and benefits, such as favorable government agreements regarding salary, pension, and employment conditions, see Jönköping University as an employer.

Welcome with your application via our recruitment system Varbi by January 11 at the latest. Selection and interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not hesitate to apply now! We would like your application to include a CV and a cover letter. Upon request, you should also be able to provide references.
